Quilt show in Troy, Alabama
The Pike Pioneer Museum in Troy, Alabama, is having a quilt show the entire month of March. I have been in past years and they had a very interesting display especially of antique quilts. This museum has great display areas of antique buildings, little shops of yesteryear, antique farm equipment, etc. If you are in the area, check it out I think you will enjoy it. Call and get hours and more details. I don't think this is a judged event just a display of a variety of quilts. We had a fun visit when we went a few years back.

I would love to go to that show and thank you for letting us know. We live in Vernon, Al. and would be quite a distance but would be totally worth it.

I did a Yahoo Search and found the following link: www.pioneer-museum.org
The left column shows the upcoming events and it does state that there will be a Quilt Show for the entire month of March. We live in Helena and plan to head down to Troy and view the beautiful displays . . . hope to see and meet some other quilters!
Mama's Place thanks for letting us know about this great event!

I live in Montgomery and Troy is not too far away, so I will likely attend this event. Have just caught the quilting bug and am looking forward to the displays. I have seen some really awesome vintage ones here and there and just love going to crafts festivals.

We went down today and had a nice relaxing day. Hubbie and I took an afternoon ride down and the weather was gorgeous. Think the show is over tomorrow. It's not a huge show but included lots of antique quilts which I love and the locally made newer quilts though few were almost all hand quilted which is a nice change from the ones as a show in Andalusia a few years back. They had very few hand quilted ones and so many machine made and quilted and lots of them were very similar. We finished off our day with a stop at Hooks BBQ in Luverne and had some yummy BBQ. I would have reminded everyone earlier but I have been in TN for the last month myself.
