I know about the Gastonia fabric store but what about shops in the Charlotte area--particularly Matthews?

In the Matthews area there is Quilt Patch Fabrics. Here is thier web site: http://www.quiltpatchfabrics.com. I've shopped there on occassion, but its a bit far for me. It's a good size store, friendly staff. There is a small quilt shop, but nice selections. It's on route 49 in Charlotte. Here is thier web site for you to check it out. http://www.thequiltingbee.net.
In Gastonia you know about Mary Jo's I imagine, there is also a nice quilt shop close by called Sew Much Fun. This one is probably my favorite. http://www.sewmuchfun4you.com.
Hope this helps!

Start them early, that's what I say! You'll make her a future quilter! Have a good time!

The Loft is in Mooresville about 15 min north of Charlotte. TONS of great fabric. Also Needle and Thread in Statesville about 30 min from Charlotte off 77 north. Bought my longarm Tin Lizzie there. Not a ton of material but Teresa the owner is so nice and helpful (phone is 704 838 1116) you could call and see how far from where you are. One more nice shop farther north off Rt.40. Teresa would remember the name. She told me about it.
Have fun. I will be in Mooresville wed. and will be visiting these. Have fun!!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm anxiously awaiting my trip and trying to get all I need to have done before I leave the farm!
