Default Quilting groups in Philadelphia?

Hi All,

I recently moved to Philadelphia, and am looking for a quilting group to join. When I say group, I mean more like a bee - something like the members come every week, every other week to make quilts for charity. Anyone know of anything?

Thanks.

Welcome from NJ. Sorry, don't know of any Philly groups. I do know of a group that meets here locally (about 45 min. north of Phila.) but I think it's monthly. Not sure they are particularly a 'charity' group, though. Just a group of quilters that work on their own projects at the library as far as I know. About the best suggestion I could give you, check w/my LQS, Pennington Quilt Works http://penningtonquilts.com and see if anyone there has some hints/clues for you. There is also http://thelittleshopforquilting.com in Haddonfield, NJ. (Just across the river from you). They might be able to give you some info as well. They have a very nice shop and the gals are very helpful.

http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/01...y-chapter.html. Not familiar with this but might be a resource for additional information.

Welcome to Philadelphia! I live in the western suburbs and the most "happening' place" is Steve's Sew and Vac in King of Prussia on Route 202, a mile from the King of Prussia mall. There are many fabrics, notions, and classes in quilting as well as in apparel and other charity/special event/project activities. If you don't become a regular at the store itself, I feel certain you would find others there who do know of a group/bee setting. Check out the website www.stevessewandvac.com and I will hope to see you there

Default Philadephia PA quilt groups

A lot depends on where you live in Philadelphia. Are you in center city, or more out in the suburbs and where. If you send me a personal message, I can share some additional group info with you.
Welcome to PA
