Anybody going to Mary Jo's July 13th?
I received an email today of an open house at Mary Jo's in Gastonia tomorrow. They are going to start carrying BabyLock so they are having an open house with some type of giving away worth $25 to the first 100 customers and drawings every 30 minutes through out the day. The email said some people had mentioned camping out to be one of the first 100.
My question anybody going? What time are you going?
I live about 3 hours away. With the heat and humidity, no camping for me for sure. The camping to buy fabric is a new concept to me. I'm old. I would have to want something real bad to camp out. Then, there's the issue of the place being packed. I don't really enjoy so many people when I'm picking out fabric. I have to be able touch and be able to stand back to look which when it's so busy is no fun.
Is this a new trend?

not a trend I don't think but a pretty good gimmick for MaryJo's! not camping for fabric any more than I would camp for extra marshmallows or even concert tickets at my age. haha

I decided not to go. I normally go twice a year because the fabric selection is great and the prices are a little discounted. It's always busy, but not packed. A Black Friday shopping experience at a fabric store isn't for me.
I do wonder what it was like for those that went, but not enough to drive 3 hours.

Just got an email from the store showing a picture of people in line reaching down the street. The email said they were surprised people started lining up Friday for the Saturday event. They also had a picture of people inside and it was packed.
