This is one of the first quilts I ever made. I began piecing quilts after my mother passed away from breast cancer in 2001. I decided I wanted to make a quilt using some of her old handkerchiefs. She always had a hankie on her somewhere... in her pocket, up a sleeve, etc! The hankies have been appliqued as is the breast cancer awareness angel at the top of quilt. The backing is small pink ribbon fabric. The pink ribbons are applique and as you can see..my satin stitch was FAR from perfect back then! But I'm sure as Mom looks down....it's perect to her! ♥

What beautiful hankies. Your mom would love you using her hankies for that. It's a wonderful memory quilt. Great job and thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful quilt and what a wonderful tribute to your mother!

You did a fantastic job on it. I love the idea of using your mothers hankies.

I'm sure that she is looking down at you with a huge smile and when you use the quilt she is giving you a huge hug.

Thank you for sharing!!!

I love the hankies. My Mom always had a hanky too. When she died, my sister and I divided them between us. Every time I use one of them, it's like Mom's with me.
