I love that. It is so bright and cheerful. For some reason I really like the darker areas showing where the white fabrics overlay; the pattern just adds to the quilt. Your mom will be so pleased!

Perhaps this pattern should be called the Football Star. You finished it during a game, and I hand-pieced some 50 or more 12" blocks of the same pattern on road trips to watch our son play football when he was in college in the 1980's. However, I'd never done anything with the blocks until recently. I decided our grandson might like to have a quilt made of blocks that had been along on trips to his dad's college games. So I'm working on putting the blocks together now for a full-sized quilt.
