Some have asked me how to do it. I know there are more qualified members than me to explain. I chose the 2 fabrics and cut them the same size. The top fabric I put over the pattern, over a box light and traced the lines of the pattern. I then basted the top fabric to the bottom fabric. I chose to cut as I go so just cut so far at a time turning under the fabric as I go, hand appliquing. It will show you the fabric you keep and what is cut away as you go. Hope this is clearer than mud. Trust me, it is not that hard. I was intimidated at first and I know mine is not perfect but just love trying. Don't be afraid. GO FOR IT!!!!

You explained it very well, Joy. One thing that I would add to it, all mine are done in Batik, it does not ravel like regular cotton fabric. If the top fabric is a lighter color it is easy to use the light box or window, BUT if using darker on top, you will need tracing paper. May I suggest getting Pacific Rims ($$ but worth it), the (4) sheets are large (1/2 the size of a 24x36 wall hanging) versus the one at the fabric stores, I think they are about 5x10. And another But, that means another step, because the tracing paper is chalk (and we all know what happens to chalk when handling something a lot). So you would have to retrace your cutting lines, again. I have used permanent pens, pencil and sharpies depending upon the dark fabric I chose. This is the cutting line and will be turned under so it will not be seen.

The directions are very clear and easy to understand. Prep is the most important part, once that is done it is a breeze.
