I don't sharing those details would get you in trouble. I hope not cuz I'd love to know, too!

I put three of these together to see just how big the'll be and I have a queen size bed and goes almost goes to the floor on each side, wow, quick & fast quilt for sure, maybe a few quick Christmas gifts for sure. I took pictures of four layed on the floor but my computer won't let me up-load them for some reason, I'll keep trying.

Just saw that same block in American Patchwork Aug magazine, page 30. Craftsy has it as one of their free blocks this month in a different size. This is another example of a common block with lots of names, etc...

The name of this block is Shoo Fly and there is a tutorial for it at About.com. All you need to do is increase the size of each piece, from the size listed, to 12 1/2" cut size. Since this is an antique quilt block I see no reason this info can't be shared. For a standard 12" finished block the squares are cut at 4 1/2" or for a 9" block they would be cut at 3 1/2". Just take the size of the desired finished block and divide it by three and add 1/2" seam allowance to each piece. Example 9" fin. block =9 div. by 3=3"+1/2" seams=3 1/2" squares. Hope this helps.

The center and solid blocks are 11 5/8" and the HST are a 12" sq. Goes together super fast.

I have been looking at this since I got my magazine, I was going to play around with a few sample blocks this weekend, but didn't get to, maybe I will have some sew time this week.
