Default Applique on outer Border

It took forever to finish this one! Thanks for looking.
First let me say your quilt is breath taking and then could I ask did you do your applique after quilting the outer border or did you quilt around it?

You did a lovely job on a beautiful quilt

Such a pleasure to see quilting that enhances the design instead of most of the stuff I see here that just goes back and forth with no regard to the quilt itself.

Wow. That's one of the nicest I've ever seen. The use of different fabrics is unreal. And the quilting for this project is perfect. Love the cross hatching

That is a beautiful quilt, and your quilting really added to it. Alot of work there, was wondering how long it took her to do all that piecing and applique. One of the prettiest 30's quilts I have seen!
