    5 years later...

I finally finished this quilt! I started this for my oldest son when he was about 2 and worked on it until I was pregnant (and sick) with my next son and couldn't do it any more... I finally picked it up again a couple weeks ago and finished the top! So excited to get it quilted (though it intimidates the heck out of me, I'm going to try!) and give it to my middle son for his 4th birthday next month. (My oldest will be getting a Harry Potter quilt that's being done as a QAL this year for Christmas... he's more or less outgrown dinosaurs and loves Harry Potter.)

I am happy for you that you finished it. It is a very great quilt for a boy of that age. You did a very good job.

I WANT THAT QUILT! If you're son doesn't want it any more, I would be thrilled to have it.

However, I'm sure your son will want it and that it will become a treasured possession. Lucky boy!
A quilt is like a good life. It's full of mistakes, but, in the end, it looks pretty good.

I have other UFOs that desperately need to be finished... this was the most important one for now. Trying to knock some out before getting really going on more projects!

Genevieve, you are doing a great job. Getting projects like this even started when you are raising and having kids is a great accomplishment. Slow and steady gets the job done and memories are made in the process.

Thank you for giving the name of the pattern. My 9 year old grandson may be interested in working on this one with me. He knows how to use my machines by himself.

    Great quilt!!!!

excellent quilt. I love adding words to quilts.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

So cute! Congratulations on finally getting it done. I know what that is like. When I put things down they seem to mock me from the closet.
