Wink 8 different mug rugs!

I made mug rugs for my son's preschool teachers for Christmas this year. They are all the same material and appliqued fleur-de-lis, but the quilting is different on each one. I had a ton of fun making these, and learned a lot about my machine, and how the different stitches look and feel through the machine.

Here are the pics. You can't really see the quilting on the front in the pics, but you can on the backs.

It's fun seeing what your machine can do.

How cute! These turned out great I'm sure they're just going to have a fit over them.

(Now get on your swap runner, lol!)

Lovely. Your quilting is fantastic, and I love the way you used white thread with the black backing -- it really shows up your work.

Thank you all! It was fun - and a learning experience! I feel much more comfortable with my machine and with quilting in general. I intend to make more of these as well! (AFTER my runner, of course!)

The fleur-de-lis I cut out of 4 pieces of white material and appliqued on before quilting. I quilted around it on all but one of the mug rugs; on the last one, I quilted it as well, following the design to see what I could do with it (top right).

wow! these are awesome, what kind of machine do you have that can make all these different kinds of stitches...I make baby blankets and the machine you have would do awesome on binding with all those different stitches! thanks!
