I just turn the backing to the front and stitch with a decorative stitch--I do not turn the edge under. The fleece doesn't ravel so doesn't really need to be turned.

I see I didn't fully answer your question. I use fleece for my backing, but the tutorial uses batting and a backing--either works well. With fleece and then turning it to the front as the facing, it is pretty quick and easy. I use a decorative stitch on the edge of the binding--with fleece you do not need to turn it under.

Yes--the tutorial just used a straight stitch running diagonally thru the blocks. The tutorial shows how to do it with continuous stitching. With fleece, I felt like having the columns sewn down was plenty without additional quilting.
