Lovely Donna, they just looked more like water lillies with the extra petals. (and I don't think anyone has done Aie's six, or was it eight, piece lilly pad in the middle.)

Kathy did on her 1st version and it seems like I saw someone else's that had all the sections in it, maybe it was Judy. I know I didn't!! I'm way too lazy for that!

Ok, here is my try at this one..Not my favorite by a long shot. This 7" block had too many little tiny pieces and I cut too many too small and have many frays. It definitely is a candidate for do over. I added the extra petal on the lily and I don't think it needs it on the 7" block. Looks too full to me. Plus, I wish I had done like some of you and coordinated the lily colors a little better. That center was a real bear---I think I like the ones in 2 pieces better.

Hey, I did the 8 pieces first - not going there again, so I thought why more than 1 if it's a lily pad?

Besides, I just go all mushy when I look at Tom!!!

I like the way this one turned out except I had a lot of trouble with getting the points good on the thin leave they all have a little hump. Any way to avoid this? I swear I tried everything but struggled all the way through it.

Gorgeous block, Lisa. Love your colors. I'm not sure there's any way to not have that little hump since you're pushing fabric into that little point. I think your points look great. I do trim out as much fabric as I can at the point before I turn the point and that does help (saw that on the Karen Kay Buckley video, I think).

Well it doesn´t show that you struggled. Its not an easy block to do and I think its lovely. the only suggestion I have is just to trim as much as you can from that point before you push it under.

Wow, you did a fabulous job on it! I watched the Sharon S. video last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEeirIl1Acs she does some really sharp little points on some skinny pieces and she flips the top of the applique piece over and trims out all the underneath seam allowance. I thought it was something I will try the next time I have a piece similar.

I agree...you sure can't see any signs of a struggle on that beauty, lisa! :D

Wow lisa---great color combo on this one. Your struggle is eye candy for us though. This block was a tough one and you did great. Keep em coming!

Here's my block 22. Finally figured out what I wanted to do with the center and did not want to do the lily pad, so I just put a round center and embroidered it to make it 8 sections. At least it's done.

Lovely block Judy and it works great the way you have stitched the lily pad.
