How clever! Wish I had been this smart. The block is beautiful and your color combination smart.

You have all made amazing jobs of this block. With my arthritic hands it as a "no go" right from the start and I didn't even attempt to applique this one, except for the musical notes in the centre. I couched ribbon around the outside and embroidered, with thick twisted thread, the lilies. Topaz-Spain

Wow! Thanks so much for all your comments. The ribbon colour is old gold. I used gold thread to do the couching X's. The thread I used for the lilies is variegated deep pink, green and gold. This photo does not really do this block full justice so I am glad that you all like my effort. Topaz-Spain

I was dreading this block from the time I got the book, well, I cheated and turned it into my fastest block to date, woo hoo! I missed a couple of points and I think I need to embroider around the center..but not too bad of an effort here.

Beautiful Block,i love the colours you chose and I agree the center block needs a little help - your bobbin work/embroidery work is terrific, you are really getting the hang of it. I didn't like it at first either, but funny how it changes your mind when you are working on these blocks. Thanks for sharing.

I always forget to log out, so it appears I'm here all the time - hope your doing well.

Candi...what a great job! It looks like you did the flowers in 1 piece (how smart you are!). Did you actually twist the fabric on the skinny parts? It almost looks like you used a bias strip and twisted it. Whatever way you did it...looks great!

I think the ideas about how to do the blocks are really getting creative! This is the most fun part of working with a group!

Donna, Pat, Mousie and Elle, thanks for the kind comments.

Donna, I am loving bobbin work...it is getting easier and easier and think it is a lot easier to do before I applique...more control for me this way.

Pat, yes, I did the flowers in one piece, more lazy than smart, lol. The other leaves are cut individually from the same batik.
