I think you did a wonderful job on that block, Patti. All your tips meet where they're supposed to. I have a problem with that sometimes (even tho I'm doing the 10" blocks), so I am impressed. And I continue to love the colors you are using. Keep up the good work. Just think how relaxing it will seem when you get to your 10" blocks.

Judy, the block with your name in your post is just gorgeous. What is that block?

Thanks, DeeCee. I'm glad you like it. The pattern in the center is called Swirling Tulips. This was a pattern I bought for a class I took a couple of years ago. After the class I took, it ended up in my UFO pile and I just found it again a couple of months ago. I was trying to figure if I wanted to do more blocks and make it into a quilt and then I decided to join the International Round Robin that began last September and use it for my center block for that. It has three borders on it now and I think will only get one more as one member of our group has not been heard from for months and I asked that my quilt not be sent to her for the fourth border. I would rather it come home short a border than not come home at all. I absolutely love what the gals have done with it.

You can find the pattern at http://www.quiltsbylyn.com/patterns1.htm It's in the middle of the 9th row down. It really is a fun pattern. The only bad thing is that it calls for a special ruler.

Patti, I think that is wonderful and I donīt care that it took 14 hours because so far, my one has taken me 1 1/2 weeks and its still not done because I do a petal and then put it down, its a beast. I love the colours

Patti, your block looks great, love the colours and your points are great too even if you hated doing them. I had a problem doing this block as I had raging toothache that week (root infection) and it took me a week to get this one done - it was almost like aversion therapy somehow, so I was really pleased to have that one behind me.

WOW! Yes, all your points meet up just like they should! So proud of you!!!

I'm chicken to try needleturn. I learned with freezer paper & I rely on it. I am too OCD to try needleturn as I would drive myself crazy trying to get it perfect. With the freezer paper - I can get it as perfect as possible.

The block is beautiful! It looks like you have mastered working with the RD threads quite nicely.

I do like it much better with the R/D on it Kathy although I still must add that little bit to the lily pad in the center.

I learned with freezer paper too...I'm determined to do this quilt without though...LOL!
