If you're going to SID, I would press your seams to one side - not open. This is going to be a beautiful quilt!

According to both Harriett Hargrave and Diane Gaudynski you should SID before doing FMQ motifs to stablize the quilt. SID all over first and then go back to FMQ decorative motifs also affords you the opportunity to remove many of your basting pins and reducing the weight of the quilt. Try to see if you can't get your hands on Harriet Hargrave's "Heirloom Machine Quilting" book or Diane Gaudynski's book "Guide to Machine Quilting". Both books are written for the domestic home machine quilter and full of helpful hints and techniques and explanations as to why you should do one thing over another.

Your quilt is lovely!

I love that quilt! I think I need to try one in that pattern too. Looks very intricate, and I really like your work and the colors. I think the bedspread size is great too.

Thank you Feline.... Love your kitty cat.

It made sense to me to do all the SITD quilting 1st, but with this group you never know what short cuts or tips you get.
