Default Waves of Echinacea Purpurea

I made this quilt after taking a three day workshop with national quilt artist Karen Eckmeier. While the technique came from her book "Layered Waves", it is my own design (there is no pattern). In this technique, each wave of fabric is top-stitched in place. The flowers (Purple Cone Flowers" are fused and raw edge stitched. Various beads accent the flower centers and stems are couched yarn. This quilt won me a 2nd place ribbon in a local quilt show.

Very interesting technique. And, the resulting quilt is just gorgeous. Enjoy your design and second place ribbon.
