Default Strip quilt pattern for a baby blanket for my nephew

Here's a quick and easy quilt to make with 2 1/2" strips. I had an orphan star block, so I put that in the middle. It only has a flannel back, so it's soft, flexible, and there's not much quilting.

I love that! It's so happy and fun. Did you follow a pattern or 'wing it' on your own?

Your quilts are just winners!

Thanks for the comments!
SBG, I winged it. Just make stuff up as I go along.
Jane Quilter, The center is 12 1/2" with 2 1/2" strips around it. So the strip blocks are 8 1/2". It must have finished at 48" square. (It's been a while since I made it...) It was a bit too big for the WOF of the flannel, so I had to piece the back. I suppose it would be more convenient to not go bigger than the WOF if you make it for a baby quilt. Strip blocks are easy enough to trim down to a smaller size-- unless you are concerned that all the strips are the same width.

Kool Idea. This would make a super "I Spy", quilt. Lots of things for baby to look at. BrendaK
