This is from a pattern in the book Creative Log Cabin Quilting. Im not a fan of so much red but the pattern called for it..and I couldnt think of another good color to make a barn.. So Im pretty pleased with the result. My horses are going to be grey and either a cream or tan. I think brown will be tow dark the pattern calls for cream and grey, but I think I might get away with a tan horse

If you have this quilting book take a gander at page 127 and tell me what ya think. and if you dont have the book as always I appreciate any and all input
Adding another pic maybe this one will look better.
The dot in the left window is from the camera..not on the actual fabric. :-(

Sounds like a great project. I can just imagine those horses looking out of the stalls.

    Hi there,

I did the exact same pattern...I put two horses into their proper "stall", but decided I'm going to put a cow in the third one....lol I think this pattern is just too cute!

It's going to look great. We have a neighbor who has a red barn, and they have kept it up for over 50 years or more. It has always been a landmark, where we can tell people if you see the red barn, you are almost here.

Thanks for sharing. Look forward to see the horses in the barn.
    Roundup time.

That's exactly what I was thinking as I was looking at the barn. I can just see the horses looking at me.
Can't wait to see the finished project.

Yes, I have that book and have made 2 wall hangings, but I happened to find some fabric that looks like wood and another that looks like old bricks for the barn. Then I found some blue fabric with "clouds". Yours looks great, can't wait to see the horses.

What a great start!!! I've made that one too and had to deal with what color horses Joanne's allowed me to make. I have one dark brown, a palomino, and a gray (silver in mini colors  ) The horses aren't too bad to get on there. I had the hardest time with the bridles--one piece went through the eye! So I put on halters. I used two different colored ribbons. Placing the eyes can be tricky... just keep looking at the pattern!

I have to make another--a two horse barn--for an auction for a horse rescue place, so it's great to see yours!

    Thanks for sharing!
