Another One Block Wonder quilt

This is my second OBW, just finished yesterday. These aren't really my colors, but I purchased the Asian print fabric at a quilt show for $5/yard -too good a bargain to pass up, right? I quilted in the ditch all over, then did free motion swirls in the borders.

Wow I love your quilt! I never thought I liked the look of the stack and whack method but you guys are changing my mind!
It is gorgeus! I do like the colors alot! And i like how you added the original fabric in the border. I like to see where they came from.

The Stack N Whack is just a technique for making Kaleidoscope blocks. With Stack N Whack, there is no wasted fabric.
I love the quilt. My favorite pattern to do because they always turn out so unique! And Pretty! :lol: :lol:

My own definition of kaleidoscope is any block that is formed by stacking fabric with the motif lined up before cutting, then usually placing the same part of the motif in the block's center from each patch. That's not very well worded, but I hope you get the idea. Many different patterns can be achieved by using different settings for kaleidoscope blocks. A One Block Wonder is named after the book of the same name, and involves either hexagons or octagons, usually made from only one fabric, whereas the settings for other kaleidoscope quilts often involve several fabrics around the kaleidoscope blocks.
So a OBW is a kaleidoscope pattern, but a kaleidoscope is not necessarily a OBW.
