That's a really cool-looking machine. Her cabinet is very distinctive. She's gorgeous!

Forgive me if this is wrong. I believe the Elgin was made by the Elgin company that eventualy became Universal and finally closed out in the 1950s. They were based in IL. They used to guarentee a job for life to their employees.
Again it's been a long time since I researched that.

WOW...what a great find!! How is it working?? My grandmother had a machine like that and my sister got it...the funny thing is is she doesn't use it at all. Wish I had it. SOOOO enjoy your treasure!

Again it's been a long time since I researched that.
I can't seem to find much of anything about it. Wish I knew how old it was. I have a box of extra attachments that were with it and it has two extra bobbin cover plates with the attachment right on it. Of course I can't find out emough about it to get a manual for it. I feel lucky that the attachments were with it. :thumbup:
