I just finished a quilt top today for a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Every year there is a big scrapbook crop fundraiser that me and friends have gone to. It is to raise money for children to go to a summer camp that the MDA puts on for kids who suffer with problems. This year the donations are slim because of economy and because some of the sponsors have gone out of business since last year. I wanted to help them this year and thought that it might be neat to have something different this year for the auction. Please be kind as I have just gotten into quilting and am not a pro.

It is being shipped off to be quilted by my mother in law on her long arm. I can't wait to see it finished!

I got the pattern from Moda Bake Shop and didn't do it justice. I am learning that appliqueing isn't as easy as I thought! The flower heads and leaves are appliqued using my machine and a blanket stitch.

My rendition of " I'm blushing"

I think that it's beautiful, just the way it is...
Good luck at the raffle, I'm sure that it will bring the money in!

Oh.....I just LOVE this quilt! I actually have all of the fabric in the original pattern to make it! Just seeing yours makes me want to start mine.

the hardest part of piecing it together was the flower stems because they are sewn into the quilt like the blocks. Just took a little more brain power than I had late the night I was trying to finish it.
The directions aren't that great like a regular pattern, but it was free and it turns out nice!

The biggest thing I would do differently is to make the flower heads bigger. They looked like the right size till I got done stitching the top of them of course.

It was fun to do I was just in a time crunch to get it done quickly and I don't usually work that way. My family was awesome to let me neglect the house till it was done.
