Default Arabian Nights - block 4 - A quilt in progress

Here it is, still slightly damp from washing the pen marks away.
I was constantly humming the theme from 'I Dream of Jeannie' while stitching this block.

The features of this block are getting more adventurous - loopy fringe from the bodice, lazy daisy hem decoration, as well as satin stitch for her hair and oodles of beads and gold metallic thread. You can't make it out in the photo, but she has toe rings - I know, even if nobody else sees them.
Once again, this block has turned out pretty much as I had visualised
For those who have not seen the other blocks - this quilt is being designed as I go. I'm using line drawings from a child's story book from the 50's. I'm thinking of sourcing the quilt fabric through a fabric swap on my blog in a few weeks - once I've got a few more blocks stitched.

Thank you for looking, and joining me on this journey. I guess I can no longer avoid calling myself a quilter....

Fabulous. You are doing a fantastic job. I sure wish I was better at embroidery. Hope to see the rest of your blocks as you go. Peggy

Wish I had the patience for hand embroidery. The block is great.

Your Picture shows the date as Jan. 29 2011 hope that is just your camera and not the date you embroderied.

your work is great and I also wish I had the talent to do this type of work.

Hi Aunt Janey - and other sharp-eyed sitchers.
The date is added to the picture via a photo processing programme. And I have since fixed the year - whoops!!

I am part way through block 6 now - block 5 is a palm tree - no sparkles...
