    Autumn quilt; cherries quilt

My first attempt a posting pics on the new forum, hope it works.

The autumn quilt was my first attempt at machine trapunto. The cherries quilt is machine applique. Both are all free motion quilted on my Horizon.

It was based on a small wall hanging from an old Quick Quilts magazine - but I greatly modified/changed it. The original pattern only measured something like 35 x 35 and this is a large twin. Plus the instructions for the heart pieced block had an error in them - which I found AFTER I started cutting! I'll see if I can find the date/issue number, but it can only be used as a guide.

The autumn quilt is entirely my own creation, the inspiration being the conucopia blocks which were originally together in a panel.

thank you all for the nice comments.

Wonderful work!! Both are beautiful, I love the way you quilted the squiggly lines in the hearts. I'm always looking for ideas for quilting on my Horizon, too. I'm loving to look at white backgrounds, maybe because I'm already thinking summer for my projects.

I love Autumn and trapunto so that first one really speaks to me. I think it is really lovely. Your cherries quilt is so bright and colorful - I can almost taste the cherries! Nice work!

When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, he tried over 2000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said, "I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2000 step process."

A million WOW'S for the cherry quilt! My absolute favorite quilt that I have seen in a very long time. Looks like a vintage quilt - love all the white in it too.
