Default Backing Color

Here is a quilt top I just finished. I got some great help deciding which border to put in the inside and which to put on the outside. Now comes the backing. What color should it be? I'm going to bind it in the gold color. Also how much backing? The quilt size is 60" X 60". BTW, the blue/gold border goes all the way around. My ds' arms weren't long enough to hold it up completely. lol

IMHO, I think a gold and turquoise plaid would be wonderful, but then I love to mix it up a bit. Thanks for sharing.

If you have any of either of the gold or turquoise or both pieced would be great

I would back it with any fabric that looks good with the gold binding. If it matched the front, that would be a bonus.

I would back it with another quilt that size and have a reversible quilt

I agree with that.
The size will depend on the quilting that you will.
If it is straight following seams, no more than 2 "around, or 64" x 64 ". It is what I would do. If quilting is free, you may need more excess fabric.
Good luck! A hug!

Ok, question about how much fabric I'll need. I was thinking I'd do three strips on the back. Blue floral/yellow/blue floral. The quilt is 60 x 60. I figure I'll make the blue floral 25" wide (x 2) and the yellow 10" wide. This totals 60". How much of each do you I need? Is there a better layout? I'm SO not good at this part. I would prefer all 1 color, but I want to break out of my box a little bit and try something pieced.
