Does this border of black with the leaf pattern with random half-circle blocks work on this quilt or should I find another material with more color to it?

Too busy for my taste, or maybe the gold leaves don't match colors in the quilt and that's why it stands out too much? Have any other fabrics to 'audition'?

I guess it depends on the look you are going for. I like brighter colors so I might add something with one or more of the
bright colors. I do like how you put in the blocks on the border!

It looks ok but I think I would use another color out of the quilt and use the same blocks as like in the black. Very pretty quilt..

Your quilt is fabulous, but if you do anything fancy for the borders, it takes the interest away from the center, which would be a shame. I think I'd stick with a simple black border (but wider than the narrow strip) so that you can do some quilting on it using the black thread so its subdued but easily seen. It then places the focus on the center, where it belongs. Lovely!

I really like that fabric, though I agree with some of the others ... it's busy, and pulls your eye away from the work you have done on the quilt.
Also, we really can't see the quilt. Any chance for a picture of it, more full on ... perhaps stand on a chair/ladder and shoot down? Or pin to your curtains? or?

That being said, some thoughts would be ...
After the black that you already have on there, a 1/4" flange in a colour you want to have pop from the quilt. Then more of the black, about 2 or 3 times wider than the first black.

I love the quilt but the border looks very busy with the two blocks worked in. I would just go with the bamboo print in the border and it will then showcase the beauty of the quilt by framing it. This is just my opinion.

I like the border, but before attaching it I would put a flange of some color that occurs in the center of the quilt (I think there is red and a that would be my preference, but blue would be good too). Then add the border.
