that is an awsome quilt, did you embroider this after the batting and backing went on or did you embroider the blocks?

I did foundation piecing onto muslin, did the embroidery, then pieced the quilt, sandwiched and tied the squares sitting at the kitchen table watching 4 versions of Criminal Minds (by the way watching more than one of these is way too many), then quilting in the sashing and did SID around the squares, then used adding machine tape to make the inner border, quilted the borders with stippling, then made the binding by sewing together random sizes of batik strips, then cut that into strips, and sewed them together to get my 400+inches of binding. I got wiser with the pillow shams and did the tying with using the machine and doing bartacks. much faster for the smaller pillow shams. Would have been cumbersome to do the whole quilt that way.. Once again, thank you everyone for your kind words.
