When you are fusing a large shape, cut out the middle of the fusible before you iron it to the fabric. The edges will adhere and the center will be nice and soft! And use a stabilizer under it all when you stitch. I like to use tear away stabilizer. It keeps the stitches nice and even on the front - no puckering. I like the blanket stitch myself, but do zigzag on occasion.

Well, I guess I've never used fusible web for this large of a quilt, so we shall see how well it holds up. I am using blanket stitch with Sulky's translucent 'smoky' thread. A lot of quilting will also help the durability.
