i made this a couple of yrs ago for my 15 yr old grandson who was going thru a "goth" phase. he insisted on a black quilt, not easy for me. so i made an executive decision  and went with my gut. he loved it then and loves it now. it is sort of twisted and off kilter. sort of like me
i ran across some pics in a folder on my computer so will post a few in the next day or so.

I think it is beautiful... One of my kids went through a goth period too  I was so glad when it ended... Now even mentioning it embarrasses her

What a beautiful use of batiks and black!

Aren't kids these days just weird?

My daughter spent the night with a friend when we were going to Disneyland the next day. She snuck into the van while we were loading up and didn't think I would look at her for a while.

The Disney trip was a company paid event, and guess what she had done the night before? Pierced her face just below her bottom lip!!! (she was 13 at the time.)

Being into tough love, I told her if she wanted to go on any rides, or eat that day, she'd be taking that thing out of her face before we got there.

She did! LOL

Thank God she is a good, loving young woman now instead of the hell-raising teenager!

Awesome Quilt, no wonder he loved it! I love batiks and they go so well with the black. I am working on a black quilt for my son, atleast we both get to use "some" colors, too

What a gorgeous quilt! I adore batiks! I love the black too. It's such a striking quilt. Beautiful work, too!

My 15-year-old son makes "granny" comments when I'm quilting, but recently he asked when I was going to make him a quilt! Being the goofy family we are, I bought a bunch of Barney, Power Rangers, and Pokemon fabric for his quilt. Oh yeah, and a "My Little Pony" fat quarter. Family joke! I buy him a My Little Pony every year as a gag for his stocking! I'll hide that purple pony fabric in there somewhere. Should be an interesting quilt!
