I have been saving light and dark value batik HST for a layout just like that. But I am going for a bed size quilt so I need a lot more than I have. Love putting them together for a little mindless play time at the machine. Yours turned out great.
Thanks! The 2nd one is my favorite. The first makes me think "earth" the second "ocean." What size are your HST? I did the sew all the way around the squares method--makes everything work together nicely.

And have you had a chance to quilt that cute adorable lil log cabin wall hanging piece? Or is that customer beauty still on?

Love your use of batiks! I was thinking I hadn't seen any posts from you in a long time. I've always enjoyed seeing your work and your mini's.
