I am making an emergency trip to NC tomorrow as my 90 year old father is in very bad health. I'm taking my 8 year old with me, so I had to get us both ready for the trip, and get the rest of the family prepared to be at home for a week without me.

SO of course, sewing took priority :) These are two items of my own imagination. I was gifted some lovely home decorating fabric so I made a laptop sleeve so I can take my laptop tomorrow and a tote bag to carry the rest of our crap in. The sleeve is something I'm really impressed with ~ it has ties at the top to tie the laptop in securely and a pocket on the front for the cables and cords....

They are far from perfect, but considering I came up with the ideas myself and used stuff I had here to pull it together they came out pretty good!

I think they're beautiful. As long as they serve the purpose for which they're intended then they are perfect.
Personally I love to make my own bags. I made one last year to take to Paducah that looked like a handbag but unsnapped into a large shopping bag.

Have a safe trip and I hope your father does okay.

I think they are perfect. I want the pattern for the laptop computer carrier. It's really great.

LOL. That pattern is in my head :) I simply measured my laptop across the top and depth and then across the width and depth and went from there....I was getting nervous because I was afraid it was going to be too small in the end but it seemed to work out!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!

Beautiful bags, you did a good job. Prayers are with you and the family. Give your dad hug from me.
