Default Before I ever attempted to make a quilt....

......I purchased this one.

It was actually my 2nd quilt purchase. My first was bought in 2000 from a quilt shop in Williamsburg, VA. I had always wanted a quilt and found one that spoke to me, so I bought it with $$ from a medical settlement at the time. I have loved it to death! lol. Warm in the winter, but lightweight enough for summer. DH and I married in 2005. When I told him what I paid for the quilt, I thought he was going to literally choke! hehehe.

So, in the summer of 2010, we vacationed in Lancaster, PA. Well, I just had to go quilt shopping, right? DH went along, but I never, ever dreamed we'd walk out of a shop with this quilt --- Especially when it was his decision to purchase! She is a beauty. And she was quite a bit more expensive than my first quilt. Hand quilted by a local Mennonite woman. I finally put her on the bed today. Why did I wait so long? I was training the dog to stay off of the bed! He still doesn't always listen, but he jumps up so rarely, I'm not worried about the quilt.

Decided last year to bite the bullet and learn to make my own quilts. It's much more economical, though I doubt I'll ever match the workmanship on this beauty.
