Just the first 3 blocks. A simple package of Aunt Martha's patterns and some red embroidery thread and muslin.

I laid them on top of a quilt in the frame that I am working on, so it kind of shows through the muslin, sorry. Kind of distracting.

These are going to be in a quilt. I haven't decided how many to make or how I'm going to do it. I'm flying by the seat of my pants. I'm have in mind to do a fabric sashing, hoping to find a suitable red/ecru background print fabric. Other than that, I haven't a clue.

No way! My mom is doing these in blue! She also mixed in some boys. She has hers all embroidered and for a block design she is using a row of a blue solid and a row of a blue print around each block, and then will sash in white. (She got a bunch of those running eighths fabrics in blue to use for the strips around.)

I am in love with hers and it looks so pretty in red, too! I can't wait to see a finished picture of your quilt! I will get a picture of my mom's and post it on here when she gets done with it.
