Default Bird on a Branch wall hanging

My mother-in-law asked to create a wall quilt to go above their bed in their newly decorated/painted bedroom. I gave her a 'coupon' for one at Christmas time and worked on it all of January. Hardest part was finding a suitable pattern and fabrics. So many options and I wanted to do right be her! This was a lot of fun to create because of the larger applique pieces and it was my first time machine quilting feathers. They loved how it turned out! I kept her in suspense for a month so she didn't know what to expect. It is roughly 2 feet x 4.5 feet and the fabric is from the Stonehenge line. Pattern was off the internet called Bird on a Branch from Piece O'cake Design and I modified it slightly to make it horizontal versus vertical. Always satisfying to know that someone truly appreciates your hard work! On to the next project....!

Wow you did a wonderful job tying everything together and giving it a focus with your hanging!

Now, I'm going crazy because I think that I have the book with that in it and I can't find it. I think it is so great that you made it your "own" with the change in direction AND the wonderful color choices. It is just beautiful. Great quilting too.

That is a beautiful wall hanging and it fits perfectly with your MIL's new décor. Well done. I love the pattern too.
