I love birds, and raise free range chickens. Nelco's charms were used on this block:

Oh my goodness! This is just spectacular and so very, very heartwarming. Not only is it so very personal to your family but you've also incorporated your QB family into every stitch! I'm over the moon about the entire representation here - thank you for sharing (in such great detail) the meaning of each block. Just fabulous!

Jennr8r showed us how to make dresden plate flowers on a tutorial on this quilting board. I used here technique to make flowers out of extra 2.5" charms in the boarder:

These are only some of the 30 blocks. I'll stop here because you must be board by now. If you want to see a closeup of any of the others, just ask. But I am forever grateful to all my birthday swap quilting board friends, and my family, for such great lifetime memories. Jane Quilter

Oh my goodness, You, and your family will treasure this quilt all your lives. It is just full of happy memories. I can hear it in your "voice" as you share with us. I can feel how you treasure each charm that came your way. Your quilt is absolutely darling.

And, I will be looking for that mini Dresden pattern here on the board. I don't believe I've seen it yet. Thank you for sharing.

I loved your blocks and all the stories. I hope that you will take pictures of all the blocks and put the story with each one and make it into a book or at least in a binder. Put the real names of each person involved in the quilt block. Then make one for each child so that when it's their turn to showcase the quilt, they can go back and remember all the details and why you made each block. Long after you and your children are gone, this will continue to be a family treasure of memories. I am so in awe of your quilt......happy tears!

Ok, I was mistaken. The dresden plate tutorial was made by SheriR. (but Jennr8r and sherrir went back and forth discussing it and referencing it so much i go confused. So sorry about that.) The tutorial can be found in last years birthday swap on posts # 971,972,974,975,1105,1106,1107,1108. of this thread:

What a fun, memory-filled quilt. And what a fabulous way to use all the charms from the swap! I love it when people post projects from the swaps on this board.
