Default baby quilt - Flynn Frame quilted #2

Fabric: from a 3-yard bundle from Fabric Cafe. Got it as a "mystery bundle" and think it was under $15 for the three yards. I added the yellow from another Fabric Cafe bundle cause I don't like when the inner border is the same fabric as the blocks. (weird, huh?) I think it was called "Boogie Monster". I really didn't think I'd use this with its creepy little critters, but now love the colors and have decided the critters aren't that creepy.

Pattern: also Fabric Cafe - Windmill. Modified for size - this is 45" square and the pattern called for a rectangle with another row of windmills.

Backing - pieced from the front leftovers

Binding: pulled over from the back

Quilted on my new Flynn Frame. Now I know why a friend says she won't quilt anything with straight lines. I tried a zig-zag and those zigs don't zag very well! (Still don't know that I'm totally sold on it. I'm making these little quilts for foster children - ages 2 - 6 - and they fit well on the frame's basic set-up. Still wonder if I couldn't do it faster my old way - cross hatch, other diagonals, stitch nearing a ditch. But ... I'm going to keep working on it until I feel like I've given it a good try. It DOES keep the sandwich nice and tight.)

Border is quilted the way my grandmother did my son's quilts when he was tiny. Hers were hand quilted, but I love the connection. Someday mine may even be symetrical!
