Irish Chains always fascinate me. I stare, trying to work out the pattern concept in my mind, having not actually attempted to make one these yet. I wind up asking myself "four patches? nine patches? where does the solid square begin and end?" It seems they always turn out well, whether two colors or scrappy with a solid. The finish quilting really makes such a big difference, too, in such a basic design! Yours is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
