Yes, a border would look good. The softest color in your color pallet would not take away from your quilt. I really like the colors that you chose.

I'm a yes, a boarder. I think a boarder will make it look more 'finished'.

Yes, my eye says a border is needed to contain the compases.

I agree that a border would bring it together. What about using a frame of squares of each color?

I vote yes for a border. They are lovely compass's. They really look 3D. Brilliant.
