Default Border Options

This isn't what I was hoping for, I had a pieced border to put on the top & bottom. But, it's not going to work out. Here's what I'm going to do instead. Border options #1 or #2?

I like the print next to the center. But I also like the idea of the print as the outside border. What about three borders. Something like two inches of the print, one inch of the plain, then four inches of the print. These figures are just for the sake of explanation. You'd adjust them to fit your own taste and needs for size and fabric amounts available.
