After talking about it and getting suggestions on color, playing with size and figuring out the "inset" I proudly layered and SIDed my little wall hanging with double batting as recommended to make the basketweave design stand out.

Ahhhhhhhhh, ready for binding I thought; BUT WAIT, WHERE ARE THE BORDERS???

So this will be QAYG with borders being added separately. Gonna be weird! Lucky its just for me!
Will post when I figure out just how I'm going to do it.

Something missing?

Oh Have never done that but I can imagine that would be easy to do. Good luck. By the way love your colors.

Just do QAYG sashings and don't worry about borders unless you need them to make the quilt bigger.

Naw, it was just a trial that might find a space on the wall, so, thanks, I'll just put a wide binding on it!

Looks like you have enough backing so that you can lay a piece of batting on it. then sew your border on to the quilt and backing, fold out, pin and quilt it. Then do the binding.
