Dear MN, I love the log cabin pattern, and haven't seen one I don't like either, but I think your daughter chose the easiest pattern for grandmother to make. If grandmother wants a quick and easy way to make a beautiful wedding ring quilt, give her this address and let her order the book and acrylic template. This is what I used and loved it. Book is "Rings That Bind" by Cheryl Phillips of Phillips Fiber Art, Box 173 Fruita, Col. 81521. email is [email protected] or www.phillipsfiberart.com This is an easy way to make a double wedding ring, you make strips and cut with the arc template.

I think that I will not be having sashing, although a nice rich rusty brown would be a great border. I will be concentrating on the blocks first, and then when they are together, I will think how big I would like a border and what type.

Nice! I'd love to see the finished quilt also when you complete it. Ironically, I have been building a stash of brown and beige fabric because I want to try a log cabin quilt. I'm even more enthused now.
