I wanted to make a large quilt that was sprinkled all over with applique butterflies but I didn't want to work with a large piece of fabric. So I made elongated four-patches and put a butterfly on each one. Then I sewed the four-patches into larger four-patches and added a butterfly to the intersections. When it got down to the last couple of seams I only had to add a few butterflies while handling the entire quilt.

I absolutely love this quilt! Great idea for layout and love those spring colors too. good work.:):)
