I got the applique flower from a great lady on ebay. I did a blanket stitch around the flowers. I put very small piping around each block and stitched down. I wanted something bright a sunny looking. I really like how it turned out. I think I'm getting good at doing feathers, I do use a stencil to mark them. Free handed feathers will still need work.
