Made this today! Was not on my list to get done today, but the fabric and pattern just said --- here I am, make me!

This will be a gift for my son and DIL for Christmas.

Great idea! I found the pattern online.
It says it will hold a spiral-bound calendar . Where can I find those?

Office Max has them. Office Depot and Staples should have them also.

    On line office supply places?

Or create your own, just so it has a backing to it to hold it in the pocket.

    Here is the original pattern.

Copy and paste it. I did make some changes but here is the one I used for sizes and inspiration.

This pattern is on the top of the pile in my sewing room to make sure I make some. Printed the pattern off a year or so ago with good intentions!!

I've been wanting to make those as Chistmas gifts also. Hope to someday find the time for all the ideas in my head.
