I had the same thing happen to me. The quilt was fine until I washed and dried it. Came out of the dryer and all my seems that were not quilted came apart.. I had to sit and hand stitch the seems closed, then add more quilting.

I've never seen fabric do that before. I am so sorry this has happened to you. I would do as others suggested and applique over it......good luck.

I agree with this , can you applique new wings over this??? since it is already quilted it will be a bear to take out
