Default For Canada Day & also for Remembrance Day

Not sure if I'll keep or donate this one but I really like this panel. Just added the poppy border. Should I add a silhouette along the lines of "freedom isn't free"?

It’s a beautiful panel and I don’t think it needs any embellishments.

Awesome! The poppies border completes your quilt perfectly.

Nicely done!
I've seen the panel, and the colours are much more richer IRL than they show in your photo.
Great choice for the poppies blended with the centre.

I agree with the others ... let it make its own statement without any further addition.

On another note, this panel has stumped me ... it is part of Northcott's Oh Canada 7 collection.
But where does the dove fit as part of Canada?? .... should it not have been a Canada Goose?

Great sybolism of Canada with the cascade of the red maple leaves. Is the white dove for peace? So meaningful.

I am guessing that, SueRoss ..... while I support it in that sense, it just seemed a bit weird, as the dove does not show up anywhere else in their Canadian lines, but our other wildlife does. All the same I still really like the panel.

Maybe too, they were seeing it as a marketing tool ....
..... not making it "too" Canadian, so that others would purchase?

I picked up one of these panels too, they are gorgeous and you have finished it off beautifully.

I am in love with that panel. My last name is.....Dove and that would make a perfect door quilt. Like your additions to the panel. It is lovely. (Have investigated and the panel is not available in the U.S. )
