What a nice way to reduce the scrap pile! You obviously had similar fabrics in all three sizes of squares, so it looks like it was meant to go together. The sashing really sets off the blocks.

Beautiful quilt, front and back and obviously Cleo has given her stamp of approval. What is it about cats and quilts? Many, many years ago I made my first quilt for my daughter, who not only picked out the fabrics, but the pattern as well. This ended up being the only full size quilt that I was able to hand quilt because of my carpal tunnel. Well, it was summer and warm, so I had set myself up in the basement, spread the quilt over our very large, former dining room table (it did have a Formica top), and I had a fan blowing under the table. I was self taught, so I would put part of the quilt in a hoop, with the table supporting it; while Mischief (who earned his name) laid on the quilt to watch me and occasionally a paw would strike out to catch the needle and thread, but no claws, so he watched me quilt the entire quilt. I'm not sure if I ever told my daughter that story, but I will remind her of it, especially since Mischief is no longer with us.
