I just had knee surgery and my husband took me away to the mts. to rest....while I was there I worked on a cathedral windows quilt for my new grandbaby. I had taken a class but didn't really like to hand sew...with a bum knee couldn't do much else.

Love your blocks and your fabric! I just heard somone refer to a Cathedral Window Quilt as a "One Year Quilt" because it would take a person that long to put one together. Do you think this is accurate??? Can't wait to see how yours progresses.

I've never heard of the quilt referred as a one year quilt, I thought it was quite funny. I got 64 squares sewn together, but haven't put the windows in yet. I'm going to put letters in them to spell out family names, so have to wait to hear what the childs name will be, boy or girl??

forgot to add, that this will only be a small quilt for the crib or a wall hanging. Each square is just under 4 inches.
