My mom started one for my 60th birthday. About 9 months before my birthday she apparently started saying to my Dad that she wasn't going to finish...but Dad kept encouraging and said that since I would be retiring the June prior to my birthday I could help finish it. Well In June 2008, I did retire and 10 days later Dad passed away. My birthday was in Nov. 2008. Mom bundled all the strips she had done into a box and when I opened it, of course I was shocked! It took us a year, but we did finish this beautiful king-sized quilt. I am so greatful to have it! Your was will be loved as well!

LOVE the use of trendy batiks in an old fashioned pattern!

Looking great!! Don't you just love Eddie's tutes??
I did one from that tutorial too, last year, and he makes it easy to understand. And once you are done with it, it is heavy enough, there is no need for batting and further quilting.

I love the colors. Can't wait to see the finished product! Cathedral Windows is on my "one of these days when I get better at this" list!
