Default Charity "Bingo" quilt

Sorry for the long explanation, but here goes. My daughter came home from college last year & asked if I could donate something to be given away at bingo games that was a unisex item, at the retirement home she did volunteer work for at college. I went through some things & out came a box of squares my mother (who had pasted away a year before) had put together, but had gone no farther with. I knew she would be happy to see them get made up into a quilt & given to a charitable cause, as she had made many charity quilts in her life. I knew why she had never put them together once I started, because they were uneven & some points missing etc... I also made a mistake on the center square, so in order to cover it up, I added the birdhouse applique. But here is the finished product. I'm sure it is keeping some cold legs warm in Jacksonville, IL!

Sorry the first picture is sideways, I have also promised myself that I will post one picture a week, now that I have learned how, & I forgot to turn it!

Love it....the birdhouse makes it extra special. Your mother would be very pleased with what you made with her blocks.

Good for you!! Not only finishing a quilt your mother had started, but doing it for a good cause!
